National Trade Journal, Editor and Publisher, Recognizes Chamber Board Chair in his Role as President & Publisher of Honolulu Star-Advertiser
HONOLULU (November 1, 2013) – The Chamber of Commerce Hawaii recognizes Dennis Francis, chairman of its board of directors, on being named “Publisher of the Year” by national trade journal Editor and Publisher. The magazine cited the Honolulu Star-Advertiser’s a successful merge of two failing newspapers, followed by strong circulation and financial growth in a challenging newspaper environment as the basis for Francis’ honor.

Dennis’ leadership in his role as president and publisher of Honolulu Star-Advertiser has provided our great state with a top-notch publication and news source,” said Sherry Menor-McNamara, president and CEO of the Chamber of Commerce Hawaii. “As board chair, Dennis is helping to guide the Chamber in its efforts to improve the state’s economic climate and help businesses thrive, and through his generous work in the community, ensuring a better quality of life for the people of Hawaii.”
