In 1999, Congress designated May as National Military Appreciation Month to honor, remember, recognize and appreciate the men and women in uniform who have served and those currently serving our nation.
Since then, the Chamber, through its Military Affairs Council (MAC), has worked with the military, government, community organizations and businesses to coordinate an entire month of events and offers that convey Hawaii’s appreciation for our military members and their families.
The Chamber encourages our members and the business community to show your support for our military in a number of ways:
- Chamber member organizations can provide discounts to military members and their families which will be posted on the Military Affairs Council site during the entire month of May. Click here for more information and to participate in the program.
- You can also show your support for our military by purchasing cookies from The Girl Scouts of Hawaii, as a part of the Gift of Caring program, which sends the packages to our service men and women abroad. For more information, please contact Lila Frisbie at 675-5529 or via email.
