Australia is on show to the world at Asia’s largest food and beverage conference in Shanghai.
For the first time the country is being showcased as a whole at the SIAL China 2015 show.
Previously each state had its own stand, but led by Food SA and the South Australian Government, this year moves were made to bring them under the one banner.
SA Opposition Agriculture spokesperson David Ridgeway is in China for the event.
“It’s not totally complete, but a big representation from South Australia, NSW and Victorian producers, so it’s a step in the right direction,” he said.
“When you look around the rest of the exhibition, every country like America, Turkey, Spain and others have a national presence and then all of their provinces or states sit underneath that, so this is a step in the right direction.”
The annual event will host 2,700 exhibitors and is expected to draw more than 55,000 visitors over the three days.
