Governor Ige MFG Bill Signing 2Today, Governor David Ige signed the Chamber’s bill, SB 1001 Relating to Manufacturing, which provides $2 million to High Technology Development Corporation (HTDC) to  provide grants up to 20% to assist manufacturers with equipment investments, training costs on manufacturing equipment and energy efficiency.
We would like to thank Governor David Ige for signing the bill which he heralded as, “moving the needle to help the manufacturing and innovation industry in Hawaii.” Governor Ige also thanked Sen. Wakai, Sen. Espero and Rep. Kawakami, along with the Chamber, for their leadership with this legislation.
We also would like to thank Sen. Glenn Wakai and Rep. Derek Kawakami for introducing our manufacturing bills on behalf of the Chamber. It is through their support, and the support of the legislature, that we are able to accomplish these programs. We would like to thank our partners, the Department of Business, Economic Development and Tourism, High Technology Development Corporation, Innovate Hawaii, Hawaii Food Industry Association, Hawaii Farm Bureau, Kauai Chamber of Commerce, Maui Chamber of Commerce, Meadow Gold Dairies, Hawaii Food Manufacturers Association, Oceanit, Island Plastics, KYD and many others.
