In celebration of May as Military Appreciation Month, we recognize the Navy's support of the Kalaeloa Modernization Project.⁠

Meredith Berger, Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Energy, Installations & Environment and Chief Sustainability Officer, announced a key commitment of $6 million to modernize the electrical grid that supplies power to the Kalaeloa community in Kapolei. The Navy has worked collaboratively with Hawaiian Electric, Hawaii Community Development Authority, the Hawaii Congressional delegation, local elected officials and other community partners to support this historic region that the Navy has long called home. ⁠
