What is Hawaii on the Hill?
A Chamber initiative, in partnership with U.S. Senator Mazie K. Hirono, bringing Hawaii companies and representatives to Capitol Hill for a two-day agenda of events.
-
- Welcome Reception – Kicks off Hawaii on the Hill and gives participants the opportunity to meet and get to know each other, as well as meet members of Hawaii’s Congressional Delegation. The reception is held at a unique location – previous venues include Google’s D.C. headquarters, The President Woodrow Wilson House, Residence of Japan’s Ambassador to the U.S. and, last year, the U.S. Botanic Garden.
-
- Policy Summit – An opportunity for participants to hear from policymakers in Washington, D.C. on a variety of issues important to businesses in Hawaii and across the country. Panelists are invited by Senator Hirono to speak on issues ranging from small business development to international commerce, workforce development, working with federal agencies, and what financial and other support may be available. Each panelist provides brief opening remarks and then opens the panel up for discussion.
- Taste of Hawaii on the Hill – The two-day agenda culminates with the Taste of Hawaii on the Hill event at which participants have the opportunity to host exhibit tables to sample their food and beverage products or company industry and services. This is an invitation-only event with all Congressional members and staff, and friends of the State of Hawaii invited. Event is an open house and has grown from about 700 guests the first year to approximately 2,500 guests in 2019
