Kelly joined Highgate in 2018 as the Vice President of Operations and brought with him over 30 years of hospitality experience, including 21 years with Marriott/Starwood. At Highgate, Kelly oversees the management of the expanding Highgate portfolio in Hawaii – currently comprised of eleven properties throughout the Hawaii region. In 2014, former Governor David Ige appointed Sanders as a board member of the Hawaii Tourism Authority (HTA) board where he served as a board member for two years. An accomplished industry expert, Sanders is active in numerous philanthropic endeavors including a board member of the Diamond Head Theatre, Creative Entertainment Director for the Heart Ball benefiting the American Heart Association of Hawaii and works with Adult Friends for Youth, Make-A-Wish Hawaii and March of Dimes, among others. He is a supporter of the Hawaiian Legacy Reforestation Initiative (HLRI), a non-profit organization committed to returning indigenous koa, milo and sandalwood trees back to the Hawaiian Islands.
