Kyle Okamura
Assistant Controller
D.R. Horton in Hawaii
Kyle Okamura is the Assistant Controller for D.R. Horton in Hawaii. Kyle has been with D.R. Horton since 2019 and assists in managing all aspects of the division’s historical reporting, anticipatory budgeting and financial projection.
Prior to D.R. Horton, Kyle served as the Project Accountant for Irongate who was the developer for the Ritz Carlton Waikiki Residence. Kyle was also the Administrative Director for the Redmont Group, overseeing the company’s back off including all accounting and HR functions, along with assisting their property management and facility maintenance divisions. Kyle also worked at the Chamber of Commerce Hawaii, a member of the Events Department. At the Chamber, Kyle oversaw the many events hosted by the Chamber, from the pre-planning to execution of each event. In addition, in 2011, Kyle founded the Chamber’s Young Professionals (YP) Program.
Kyle has actively been involved with local non-profits, including serving on fundraising committees for Junior Achievement of Hawaii and the Arthritis Foundation of Hawaii. Kyle currently serves on the finance committee for the Hawaii Society of Business Professionals. Kyle was recognized as a member of Pacific Business News’ 2016 “Forty Under 40” class and 2016 “YP of the Year” by the Chamber of Commerce.
Kyle was born in Honolulu and graduated from Pearl City High School. He holds his bachelor degree in business administration and management from the Shidler College of Business at the University of Hawaii – Manoa and his MBA from the University of Phoenix.
