Louise Ing

Louise Ing headshotLouise K. Y. Ing is a founding stockholder and director of the Hawaii law firm of Alston Hunt Floyd & Ing, where she serves on the firm’s Executive Committee. Licensed in both Hawaii and California, she represents businesses and non-profits in commercial, real estate, bankruptcy, intellectual property and employment litigation and dispute resolution. She also serves as Chief Outside Legal Counsel to Hawaii-based online game development company Tetris Online, Inc.

Ms. Ing was 2013-14 president of the Hawaii State Bar Foundation and the 2011 president of the Hawaii State Bar Association. Her awards and recognition includes: Best Lawyers in America’s® 2015 Hawaii Lawyer of the Year for both Bankruptcy Litigation and Bet-the-Company Litigation; Benchmark Litigation Top 250 Women in Litigation; Best Lawyers in America® in the categories of Commercial Litigation, Bet–the-Company Litigation, Bankruptcy Litigation, Labor and Employment Litigation, and Real Estate Litigation; Super Lawyers; Martindale-Hubbell AV rating; the Patsy T. Mink PAC award for her legislative advocacy work on women’s health issues; and leadership awards from Hawaii Women Lawyers, Hawaii State Bar Association and YWCA of Oahu. 

Ms. Ing is a board member of Island Holdings, a Hawaii-based insurance holding company; University of Hawaii Foundation, National Asian Pacific American Bar Association-Hawaii Chapter; Child & Family Service (Secretary; Executive Committee); and The Plaza Club, a Honolulu business club (Vice-Chair). She is a former board member of American Savings Bank, Aloha Airgroup, Aloha United Way, Assets School, Hawaii Medical Service Association, Hawaii Women’s Legal Foundation (past President), Kahi Mohala Hospital (past Board Chair), and the Hawaii Community Foundation. 

Born in Honolulu, Ms. Ing earned her J.D. from Boalt Hall School of Law at U.C. Berkeley, and her B.A. magna cum laude in American Studies from Yale University.  She is married with two children, a daughter in college in New York City and a son who is a proud employee of the Boston Red Sox.
