HONOLULU, HI — September 28, 2016 – Scott Ingwers, Regional Vice President and Managing Director of Trump International Hotel Waikiki, has been named 2016-2017 Chairperson of the Hawai‘i Lodging and Tourism Association (HLTA). Ingwers has been an active member of the non-profit organization since 2001, which serves to represent lodging properties and businesses across the state.
“I am honored and humbled to serve as Chairperson for HLTA,” said Ingwers. “The organization has a long history of advocacy, education and support for Hawaii’s visitor economy. I look forward to collaborating with fellow partners in order to ensure that the visitor industry remains healthy and robust, so that it may continue to provide meaningful support to so many families and businesses in Hawaii.”

HLTA is a non-profit, statewide trade organization of lodging properties, lodging owners and management companies, suppliers, and related firms and individuals. It was founded in 1947 and is now the state’s largest private sector tourism organization. Today, HLTA consists of 700 members representing the state’s leading industry, 166 of which are lodging properties comprising almost 50,000 rooms. The HLTA is a partner state affiliate of the American Hotel & Lodging Association, the largest organization of its kind in the world.
