Teri Orton is responsible for the overall management of the Hawai‘i Convention Center, including sales and marketing, operations, finance, food and beverage, and customer service, while implementing the strategic positioning and marketing plans for the facility in conjunction with the Hawai‘i Tourism Authority, Hawai‘i Visitors and Convention Bureau, and the Meet Hawai‘i team.

Prior to joining AEG Facilities and the Hawai‘i Convention Center in 2014, Orton was vice president of condominium resort marketing for Outrigger Enterprises Group, which consists of 16 properties across the Hawaiian Islands. She has nearly 20 years of hospitality experience, including posts as hotel general manager, director of sales and marketing and other management roles with Embassy Suites, The Ilikai, W Diamond Head, Sheraton Princess Kai‘ulani, and the Huntington Beach Hilton Resort.

Orton majored in communications at the University of Hawai‘i and advanced her training in hospitality management through various certifications with Starwood and Hilton Hotels.
She serves as a Board Member and Advisor on the Hawai‘i Visitors & Convention Center Bureau’s (HVCB) Board. She is also a Board Member on the Aloha United Way (AUW) Board and serves as Co-Chair of the 2017 AUW Hospitality Campaign. Pacific Business News (PBN) selected her as PBN’s “10 To Watch” in 2014 and PBN’s “Women Who Mean Business” in 2017. In 2014, she was named Hawai‘i Business “20 for the Next 20”.

In her spare time, she enjoys running, biking and swimming.
