Wendy Burkholder began her healthcare career in 1989 as an Occupational Therapist. As a clinician, Wendy identified early on that serving in leadership roles allowed her to expand her ability to improve the high quality care for vulnerable populations. She currently serves as the Vice President of the Ambulatory Services Division for The Queen’s Health Systems and has over 20 years of experience in managing primary care and specialty care clinics. Wendy holds a Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy from the Medical University of South Carolina and an MBA from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, FL.
She is a Fellow of the American College of Health Care Executives and has also achieved her Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certification. Throughout her leadership roles Wendy has served on various boards of community services and non-profit organizations including MedStar Community Advisory Board, Tarrant county Homeless Continuum of Care Board, and Healthy Moms-Healthy Babies-Healthy Communities. When Wendy is not working you will likely see her enjoying outdoor activities such as hiking, scuba diving, and other outdoor water activities.
