The Chamber of Commerce Hawaii creates high-quality work-based learning opportunities for our keiki through grant-funded programs. Work-based learning provides exposure and preparation that expands economic opportunity and access to social capital, while preparing students for post-secondary and career success.

Student Leadership Board

Chamber of Commerce Hawaii Student Leadership Board

A program that empowers high school students to grow as leaders, engage with their community and connect with professionals through civic and work-based learning opportunities.

Young Professionals High School Mentor Program

Young Professionals HI School Mentor Program

Young Professional mentors are paired with a high school leader in their community. Mentors gain valuable mentoring and management skills and inspire students to contribute to workforce development in Hawaii. Students receive support for their school projects, develop fundamental and technical skills, expand their networks, and gain guidance for the future.

National Civics Bee

National Civics Bee® Hawaii

Chamber of Commerce Hawaii partners with U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation to host a nonpartisan statewide civics competition. The 2024-25 National Civics Bee® encourages young Americans in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade to engage in civics and contribute to their communities.

Hawaii Work-Based Learning Continuum
