HONOLULU (KHON2) – A couple of Hawaii businesses will be taking the aloha spirit to our nation’s capitol this Summer.
“Hawaii On The Hill” will make its return to Capitol Hill, its ninth year.
Local businesses will attend the 3-day policy summit and get a chance to meet with federal lawmakers.
“It’s a chance for Hawaii businesses, especially small businesses, to interact with congressional leaders to say to the congressional leaders, this is what’s happening in Hawaii. Here’s what the decision you folks made, will impact us. There’s an interaction. And a relationship building on hopes,” said U.S. Senator Mazie Hirono.
“The fact that many of them return, pretty much shows that it’s exciting for them. Not only do they showcase their products, but they also know what kind of resources are available for them on a federal level. And that’s why the Senator and her team organizes a Policy Summit where she brings different congressional leaders, agency heads, to talk about the resources. And this year, we’re adding a State of Tech event,” explains Chamber of Commerce Hawaii Sherry Menor.
The policy summit is from June 8 to 11, with the famous “Taste of Hawaii” event taking place on the last day.
