2030 Blueprint Fundraiser

The challenges our state faces are significant—from high living costs to economic dependency on a narrow set of industries. These challenges threaten the very fabric of our community’s economic stability. However, within these challenges lie incredible opportunities for growth, diversification, and resilience. The Blueprint in Action Campaign is our proactive strategy to seize these opportunities and drive substantial economic change across the islands.

FAQS

Common inquiries about donation processes, campaign goals, and participant involvement.

The 2030 Blueprint for Hawaii is a data-based, long-term strategic action plan led by the Chamber of Commerce Hawaii (Chamber) for the business community to lead and change the trajectory of Hawaii’s economic future as a top place to do business. The Blueprint identifies Hawaii’s barriers to business and areas of focus for optimal collaboration by stakeholders from business, government, and the community.

This strategic action plan provides a framework to create a robust legislative agenda focused on implementing feasible policy changes and measurable outcomes. This will foster mutual accountability with the ultimate goal of improving Hawaii’s business climate and elevating the state’s economic competitiveness rating.

The Chamber will engage stakeholders to identify challenges and policy solutions with the goal of making Hawaii a top state to do business by 2030.

We are setting goals and crafting a strategic plan to achieve our economic potential by taking proactive steps through this unprecedented all-hands-on-deck approach. The private sector must take action now to lead and create this necessary change to improve the state’s long-term economic outlook.

The urgency is real because:
• Hawaii home prices have risen by 38% over the past five years.
• Childcare for one infant can account for 18% of annual income for a married couple and 46% for a single parent.
• The cost of living continues to increase, and Hawaii is ranked 50th for having the highest cost of doing business in the country.
• Hawaii is the 6th-highest-ranking state when it comes to state and local taxes per capita.
• Outmigration and “brain drain” are affecting small businesses and job growth.
• COVID-19 highlighted the need for a stronger and more resilient economy.

Your contribution is a vital investment in Hawaii’s future. It supports a broad vision to transform our economic landscape into one that is diverse, resilient, and thriving, directly enhancing the quality of life across the islands. Your support enables us to undertake comprehensive initiatives that tackle the root causes of our economic challenges and pave the way for sustainable development and growth.

Further, your donation will secure the possibility for results by increasing Hawaii’s general competitiveness while growing and diversifying the economy.

Financial contributions will support initiatives such as the hiring of key personnel, research and development of economic strategies, legislative advocacy, and the creation of educational and training programs.

In the first year alone, your contributions will support several important initiatives under the Blueprint in Action Campaign that will lead to the creation of a cohesive strategy addressing immediate needs while building long-term resilience and prosperity.

  • Research and Policy Development: Contributions will support extensive economic research and the development of a robust impact plan. This includes conducting surveys, focus groups, and engaging consultants to aid in crafting policies that support Hawaii’s unique needs.
  • Community and Legislative Engagement: Financial contributions will fund initiatives to build and maintain strong relationships with government officials, including proactive lobbying efforts and the creation of a legislative agenda in alignment with business and community priorities.
  • Educational Programs and Workforce Development: Funds will also support the creation and enhancement of educational programs and training initiatives aimed at building a skilled workforce ready to meet the demands of a diversified economy.
  • Infrastructure Enhancements: A portion of the funds will go toward enhancing physical and digital infrastructure to support economic activities across the islands.
  • Compete with Opposition groups: Advocacy groups with adversarial agendas are on the rise. Funds will provide sufficient resources for the business community to go toe-to-toe with anti-business legislation and counter antagonistic momentum.
  • Support Bipartisan Solutions: Grow the business bipartisan caucus at the legislature via Chamber PAC.
  • Keep Score: Build a dashboard to provide metrics for the Blueprint and serve as a reliable reference for the benefit of the state.

Updates will be shared through our regular e-communications, the campaign microsite, and social media channels.
