MAUI, HI – Following the success of the inaugural Maui IT Employer Meet & Greet in April 2025, the Chamber of Commerce Hawaii, Good Jobs Hawaii, PCATT, and the University of Hawaii Maui College are excited to host the next event on Wednesday, May 7, from 4–6 PM at UH Maui College. This event highlights Maui’s growing IT workforce and underscores the importance of local partnerships in connecting talent with career opportunities across Hawaii.
“We’re excited to welcome employers and emerging IT talent back to the Maui IT Employer Meet & Greet,” says Lord Ryan Lizardo, VP of Education & Workforce Development at the Chamber of Commerce Hawaii. “This event gives students a chance to explore career paths, learn from industry leaders, and build networks that can help them stay and grow their careers here in Hawaii. By creating these local opportunities, the event directly advances the 2030 Blueprint for Hawaii’s goal of strengthening workforce pathways, supporting small businesses, and ensuring the state’s growing tech talent can prosper at home.”
Designed as a casual, small-group networking opportunity rather than a traditional job fair, the event invites local employers to “talk story” with emerging IT professionals from Maui. Students from UH Maui College’s Applied Business and Information Technology program, along with participants in Good Jobs Hawaii’s technology training program, will have the chance to explore career pathways, learn about industry expectations, and expand their professional networks.
Employers will have the opportunity to:
- Share insights about the skills needed to succeed in IT
- Discuss their career journeys and lessons learned
- Connect directly with Maui’s growing IT workforce
