HONOLULU (KHON2) — For young professionals in Hawaiʻi, the question of whether they can afford to stay can shape decisions about housing, careers, family and the future.

That question will take center stage Thursday, Oct. 15, when the Chamber of Commerce Hawaiʻi Young Professionals program holds its 4th Annual Cost of Living Summit at Prince Waikīkī.

The full day summit, presented by Tradewind Group, will bring together young professionals, business leaders, policymakers, economists and community leaders to discuss the costs that shape daily life in the islands.

This year’s theme, “Rooted in What Matters,” centers on housing and homeownership, wages and career opportunities, and childcare and the cost of starting a family.

“If we want the next generation of business leaders to stay in Hawaii, we have to give them more than encouragement. We have to give them tools and a platform to make it happen,” said Sherry Menor, president and CEO of the Chamber of Commerce Hawaiʻi.
