HONOLULU (KHON2) — Kauai business owners can qualify for grants to help recover from Hurricane Lowell.
The State Department of Business, Economic Development and Tourism is giving out more than $2 million worth of grants to support non-agricultural small businesses. The program offers one-time grants of $5,000 or $10,000.
“We know many of our small businesses and nonprofit organizations are still struggling with the impacts of Hurricane Lowell,” said OED Director Nalani Brun. “This funding is an important opportunity to help them recover and continue serving our community. With limited funding available, we strongly encourage eligible organizations to review the requirements and apply as soon as possible.”
Applications are open now and will be reviewed and approved on a first-come, first-served basis.
For more information on eligibility requirements, grant details, application instructions and to submit an application, visit the Chamber of Commerce Hawaii website.
DBEDT will also be hosting a free workshop on Thursday, Oct. 29, at 9 a.m. at the Kauaʻi War Memorial Exhibition Center, which will cover the grant program and other available business resources. To register, visit this website.
