From disaster response to decades of leadership, members of the Hawaiʻi National Guard are sharing how service has shaped their lives and strengthened communities across the islands.
Guard members across multiple generations — including Lt. Phan, who responded during the recent Kona low floods while serving her own community.
She shares how training and preparation helped Guard members respond when Hawaiʻi needed them most.
The segment also highlights stories from Moses Kaoiwi and retired leader Rick Richardson, who reflect on how the Guard creates opportunities, develops leadership, and maintains readiness through ongoing training in Hawaiʻi.
