October 22, 2026

HONOLULU, HI – The Chamber of Commerce Hawaii will bring together business leaders, educators and community partners for Sector Partnerships Pau Hana with a Purpose on Tuesday, Nov. 10, at PEWA by Pono Potions (1115 Bethel St.). This annual event highlights how industry collaboration can strengthen Hawaii’s workforce and create more career opportunities for local residents.

Attendees can learn more about Sector Partnerships, connect with others in their industries and discover how they can help strengthen Hawaii’s talent pipeline. Through collaboration among employers, educators, government agencies and community organizations, Sector Partnerships work to align education and training with industry needs, helping prepare students and job seekers for meaningful careers while supporting businesses in finding and developing skilled local talent.

“Sector Partnerships help us take a more coordinated approach to workforce development by bringing employers, educators and community partners together to address the talent needs of high-demand, high-wage industries while creating pathways to good-paying careers for Hawaii’s residents,” says Lord Ryan Lizardo, Vice President of Education and Workforce Development at the Chamber of Commerce Hawaii. “Employers understand the skills and qualifications they need, and by working directly with education partners, they can help shape career pathways that prepare students for those opportunities. This collaboration is important not only for businesses looking to build a strong local workforce, but also for students, who deserve greater access to meaningful careers here at home. The more connected we are in this work, the better positioned we are to develop local talent and meet the needs of our state’s evolving economy.”

Each sector is supported by a lead organization that contributes subject-matter expertise and helps guide the work. Sector leads also participate in a Community of Practice, creating opportunities to share knowledge, exchange ideas and learn from one another to strengthen workforce development efforts across industries.

Hawaii’s seven Sector Partnerships are Clean Energy, led by the Hawaii State Energy Office; Creative Industries, led by the DBEDT Creative Industries Division; Engineering, led by the University of Hawaii College of Engineering; Healthcare, led by Healthcare Association of Hawaii; Information Technology, led by CIO Council of Hawaii; Natural Resources, led by Kupu; and Transportation, led by Chamber of Commerce Hawaii.

Whether new to Sector Partnerships or already involved in workforce development, attendees are encouraged to join the conversation, build connections and help shape the future of Hawaii’s workforce. By bringing industry voices together, the initiative helps strengthen career pathways for local students and job seekers while building a more prepared and competitive workforce for Hawaii.

Proceeds from event ticket sales and silent auction purchases will support the Sector Partnership Fund, helping advance industry-led workforce development initiatives and expand opportunities for Hawaii’s students and future talent.

Registration for Sector Partnerships Pau Hana with a Purpose is $75 and includes two drinks, pupus, and access to a silent auction and prize drawings. Get tickets online at cochawaii.org/events.
