Nanakuli and Waiʻanae Internship Program
The Nanakuli - Wai’anae Complex Area in collaboration with the Hawaii Chamber of Commerce Foundation presents the Nanakuli - Wai’anae Complex Area Summer Internship Program. Students of the Nanakuli - Wai’anae Complex Area can apply for this internship program to gain real-world work experience.
Chamber of Commerce Hawaii recognizes the use of diacritical markings of the Hawaiian language including the okina or glottal stop and the kahako or macron. However, due to technological limitations these markings may be omitted in some places on our website.
Internship Information:
- Internship Window: Summer 2026 (6/8 – 7/31)
- Deadline to Apply: Friday 5/15
- Interview Time Period with Nanakuli – Wai’anae Complex Area: Rolling pending on application date
- Required Virtual Intern Onboarding Date: Week of 6/1 – 6/5
- Project of Value Presentation Week: Week of 7/27
- 2026 Summer Internship Awards and Appreciation Luncheon, Location TBD: Week of 7/27
- Hours: 70 hours total (cannot exceed 18 hours per week)
- Stipend requirements:
- Stipend to be paid in full to student upon completion of internship: $700
- Stipends are awarded based on completion of deliverables and not based on hours worked.

- 70 hours of work tasks, including lab
- Attending all weekly labs
- Attending all scheduled PD sessions

- Satisfactory completion of Project of Value (project + presentation)
- Completion of employment forms and documentation
Eligibility Requirements:
- Available at least 10 hours per week during the internship program.
- A current student at Nanakuli – Wai’anae High School.
- Above age 16 by June 1, 2026.
- A CTE Level 2 completer (taken two courses in a CTE program of study).
- GPA of 2.0 or above.
- Attend all onboardings, labs, professional development sessions, and Project of Value presentations.
- Cannot be a student from grad year 2026.
