The Chamber supports bills that create a globally competitive talent development system that produces a healthy and skilled workforce, benchmarked against the best education and workforce preparation systems in the world.

We also aim to ensure that Hawaii  job providers have access to the talent needed to compete in a global economy, and support a school funding system designed to responsibly provide the resources necessary to deliver excellent, equitable results for students.

Chamber-Priority Education Bills Currently Before the Legislature

HB1465 HD1	This bill appropriates funds to be used by the Department of Education for the repair and maintenance of public school buildings, grounds, and facilities.
SB856	This bill requires the State Auditor to perform a financial and management audit of the Department of Education, Superintendent, Board of Education, and complex areas every three years.
